I’ve been reserving this as a personal journal as a means to process so much grief, to document so much internal dialogue that comes through while sleeping next to you while I muffle my cries.
I found strength in connecting with other mothers, of all sorts, my own tribe of them, and again with moms of kids with cancer.
All the worries and questions and hearing the parallels. So who am I to withhold my grief and process? Maybe you need a good cry, too.
Maybe you too have been suppressing a much needed emotional release
This is for those
who have too many hospital gowns and hospital bracelets in their pretend doctor kits
From too many stays
This is for those
Whose hands bleed raw,
From too many washes
This is for those
Who’s eyes burn
From crying and suppressing
Repeat
