stories of tRAUMA AND SURVIVAL
Trauma doesn't end when the treatment does. The echoes of fear, helplessness, and loss stay with us. These stories are shared by parents and caregivers who have lived through the unthinkable — and are finding their way back to safety, moment by moment.
"PTSD DOESN'T MAKE YOU WEAK — IT MEANS YOU SURVIVED SOMETHING DEVASTATING. AND SHARING IT HELPS OTHER SURVIVE, TOO"
Your story matters. Each experience of loss is unique, yet in sharing our journeys, we create connection and meaning. Consider adding your voice to our community.

The Receptionist Lied and I Have Medical PTSD
Written by Taryn Jarboe, RN
This week, I received a lovely birthday gift. For the first time since we moved in April, I have school for both of my children. As a mother to young children, when school synchronicity begins, you cram every living thing you have needed to do for the last six months into the first few child-free days you have. Unfortunately, for me, ‘every living thing’ includes doctors and dentists visits.
These appointments may be no-brainers for most moms, but not for me. I am a mom who has PTSD. My daughter June died when she was eighteen months old from neuroblastoma.
